Terraform/HCL¶
These real terminal captures use a historical development build. They are not current release certification; independent output review and current installed-wheel scenario checks remain pending.
Overview¶
This worked example compares main.tf. Advertised filename extensions: .tf, .hcl.
What changes¶
Change aws_instance.web type from t2.micro to t3.small; add Name and Environment tags; add instance_ip output referencing public_ip; preserve AMI and resource identity.
Before¶
resource "aws_instance" "web" {
ami = "ami-0c55b159cbfafe1f0"
instance_type = "t2.micro"
}
After¶
resource "aws_instance" "web" {
ami = "ami-0c55b159cbfafe1f0"
instance_type = "t3.small"
tags = {
Name = "web-server"
Environment = "production"
}
}
output "instance_ip" {
value = aws_instance.web.public_ip
}
Things to know¶
- Infrastructure behavior/cost and exported value change; deployment/provider/AMI validity is not verified.
Recorded output¶
Recorded from a real native CLI through rs-rich-record. A refactoring label does not prove equivalent behavior. Build identities.

Try it¶
Save the two source blocks as separate files with the shown extension, then compare them:
intentumdiff file before/main.tf after/main.tf
The installed Python wheel includes its parser components. The native CLI requires a component directory. Compare the result with the source change described above; agreement between APIs alone is not proof of correctness.
