Perl¶
These real terminal captures use a historical development build. They are not current release certification; independent output review and current installed-wheel scenario checks remain pending.
Overview¶
This worked example compares code.pl. Advertised filename extensions: .pl.
What changes¶
Enable strict and warnings; replace shift-based name extraction with list assignment from @_; add greeting exclamation mark; rename add locals a/b to x/y with unchanged addition.
Before¶
sub greet {
my $name = shift;
print "Hello, $name\n";
}
sub add {
my ($a, $b) = @_;
return $a + $b;
}
After¶
use strict;
use warnings;
sub greet {
my ($name) = @_;
print "Hello, ${name}!\n";
}
sub add {
my ($x, $y) = @_;
return $x + $y;
}
Things to know¶
- shift consumes the first element of @ whereas list assignment leaves @ intact; this does not affect the remaining shown function body.
Recorded output¶
Recorded from a real native CLI through rs-rich-record. A refactoring label does not prove equivalent behavior. Build identities.

Try it¶
Save the two source blocks as separate files with the shown extension, then compare them:
intentumdiff file before/code.pl after/code.pl
The installed Python wheel includes its parser components. The native CLI requires a component directory. Compare the result with the source change described above; agreement between APIs alone is not proof of correctness.
